Gift option

Add a free gift request or paid wrapping from the product page.

Create paid gift wrapping

This differs from a complimentary gift: it adds a service or records a request on the purchased item.

1. 01

   Under Products, create a simple product such as “Gift wrapping”.

2. 02

   Enter the service price and keep its variant available.

3. 03

   Add an image if it should be easy to recognize in cart.

4. 04

   Optionally hide it from predictive search using the global setting for technical products.

Configure the Gift option block

1. 01

   In Main product, add or open the Gift option block.

2. 02

   Select the Gift wrapping product for a paid option.

3. 03

   Enter the label, property name, and property value stored with the order.

4. 04

   Enable the gift message if needed and configure its label, placeholder, and maximum length.

5. 05

   Select the same service product in cart and cart drawer for consistent editing.

With or without a service product

  With a selected product, wrapping is added as a separate line with its own price.

• ✓

  Without a selected product, the request is stored for free as a property of the main line.

• ✓

  The theme marks the service with _opaline_gift_wrap and stores its mode and selection.

• ✓

  The gift message is passed through the line properties or cart attributes used by the cart.

Test before publishing

   Add a product with and without the option.

2. 02

   Check the service price and variant.

3. 03

   Edit the selection from cart and reload.

4. 04

   Check properties and message in a Shopify test order.
